COGMOS
On the 6th of December 1994 the Council of Ministers decided to establish a programme to develop a new policy with regard to vocational training in the European Union. This program, Leonardo Da Vinci, outlines in its second chapter the measures to help university students and graduates during placements in companies of the European Union.
The University of León (U.L.E.) and the Fundación General de la Universidad de León y de la Empresa (F.G.U.L.E.M.), as a promoting Consortium, manage Leonardo training grants for graduates of this University and of other Universities that may achieve the aims of our Project within the COGMOS framework.
The objective of COGMOS is twofold. The main aim will be to help the graduates to integrate into the working world. The second aim is to allow enterprises, through the placements, to benefit from the experience of receiving a person from another E.U. country with a transfer of different technologies, skills and an intercultural experience that will become an added value to the company's competitiveness.
These internships periods fit into the framework of a transnational project with the aim of acquiring vocational qualifications apart from those acquired in the first part of the person's training. The internships will also favour the carrying out of professional projects and individual career plans.
The candidate's CV will be fully improved from the placement. He/She shall receive a certificate from the company describing his/her activities and what was gained from them.
On a European basis, the purpose of the Cogmos placements is to:
. Promote European awareness
. Promote professional mobility within an intercultural exchange background.
. Improve the quality of human resources, which shall lead to an increase in competitiveness.
