The museum houses contemporary and avant-garde
art.
Photos, light installations and videos predominate
the collection.

CATEDRALICIO DIOCESANO
It can be found in the Cathedral of León
and it houses works from all stages
of art history: from prehistory art to 20th
century art.
The works of art are displayed in different galleries
around the cloister.

This museum can be found within the San Marcos building.
It has an extensive epigraphic collection
with objects from prehistory and objects from the classical,
medieval, renaissance
and baroque period.

DE LA REAL COLEGIATA DE SAN ISIDORO
Situated at the San Isidoro square, the
museum houses, amongst other things, the
exceptional "Capilla Sixtina" - a magnificent mausoleum of former kings and queens -
with its impressive and
well-conserved frescos.
It also contains works taken from architecture, painting, religion, and craftwork, along with documents, tapestry and fabrics.

• MUSEO
ETNOGRÁFICO "ILDEFONSO FIERRO"
It houses a collection of elements of traditional
art found in the villages of León:
fabrics, furniture, ceramics and traditional
handmade objects.
Of the objects of archaeology, the “Ídolo
de Rodicol” from the Bronze Age stands
out.

Music festivals
There are numerous music
festivals in Castile and León, with everything from
folk to rock music. These festivals are
held during the summer months.
As an example, we present three
of the festivals that are organized in the
province:
• Festival de Música
Española de León
The festival aims to develop the rich and
complex dynamics of contemporary music in
Spain.
The festival organizes different live concerts
by Spanish and
Latin American composers, soloists, and
groups.
It also organizes instrumental, vocal and
orchestral concerts.

• Bierzo Rock
Rock festival in Ponferrada with performances
by groups such as Insight, Ibidem, Terra

graffiti, a free market and workshops are organized.
