| If
you don’t like going to discos or
pubs, but you would like to go to a party,
you can go to one of the many "fiestas"
(festivals) that are celebrated in Castile
and León.
Almost every village and small town in the
province has its own day of festivity, which
has ancestral origins. On those festivity
days, people commemorate a Saint or a historical
event. Or the seasons, the sowing, and the harvest
of the crops is celebrated.
Usually the Fiestas are held outside, for instance,
on a field or town square, and there is
usually a live band playing. Also, there
is always a bar at the party where you can
order drinks.
A lot of villages and cities also have markets
where, for example, handmade objects or cattle are
sold.
