The city of León has a modern network of bus lines that are favourably connected with the main points of interest of the city.

You can also take one of the many taxi cabs that are in the city; they will take you to any place in León. You can call them on the telephone or hail them on the streets.

Furthermore, there is a railway network with optimum connections and an airport that is in full expansion.

Buses

City buses

There are 13 bus lines that run through the city of León. These buses can take you to any point of interest in the city.

You can purchase ordinary bus tickets from the bus driver of the bus you’re going to take. Bus passes can be purchased at the banks of CAJA ESPAÑA.

Intercity buses

There are, furthermore, intercity buses that will take you to any other city in Spain.

Taxis

The commonest way of getting a taxi in León is to go to one of the 37 taxi ranks that can be found throughout the city. Taxi ranks can be recognized by a, usually, long line of taxis that are parked, and by a sign that says “Taxi”.

You can also hail a taxi on the street, if it is unoccupied. The best place to do that is near a traffic light or in an empty space on the street. In this way, the taxi can safely stop without interrupting the traffic flow.

Furthermore, you can call a taxi to pick you up at any point in the city.

Trains

León has a train station from which you can depart to any other city in the country.

Airplanes

León has a relatively “young” airport, but it is in full expansion and there are already many possibilities of flying to various parts of Spain and the rest of Europe.

The Airport of León is situated in Virgen del Camino, a village situated at a mere 7 kilometres from the centre of León. From there, it takes only 10 minutes to get to the centre by taxi (price: € 15).
